Serviced office provider Regus will open a new centre in the City of
London after acquiring 19,000 sq ft of space at 63 St Mary Axe.
The centre, which is due to open in April, will occupy the refurbished
building’s first and second floors and house more than 160 workstations. It
will feature around 70 serviced offices of varying sizes, three meeting rooms
and a large, open-plan co-working space.
Regus is targeting a wide range of occupiers including small and
medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups and multinationals.
“This centre will appeal to firms seeking a professional space that provides
the optimum conditions for a productive workforce but also gives access to a
dynamic community of fellow professionals,” said Richard Morris, UK chief
executive at Regus.
The deal comes after AXA IM-Real Assets bought 63 St Mary Axe from
Rockspring a year ago. Regus, which was advised on the letting by CBRE, already
has offices close by on two floors at The Gherkin, 30 St Mary Axe.
Earlier this week, Regus reported a 46% jump in underlying annual pre-tax
profits, fuelled by 554 new openings in 2015. In the UK, the serviced office
specialist opened 45 locations last year taking the total number to 347.
