US co-working giant WeWork has signed a
deal to pre-let 37,000 sq ft of space at Beltane and Angelo Gordon’s 33 Queen
Street in the City of London.
The building, which was bought by the
joint-venture partners in December in a sale-and-leaseback agreement with the
London Chamber of Commerce, is undergoing a comprehensive refurbishment on the
50,000 sq ft of space.
WeWork will sign for around £60/sq ft and
will take occupation of the upper floors in the building next year once the
refurb has completed.
The ground and lower-ground floors will be
occupied by the London Chamber of Commerce, which signed a 150-year lease with
Beltane as part of the sale.
The deal is the latest in a series for
WeWork, which has grown its presence in the capital to more than 800,000 sq ft.
It has also completed on its 97,000 sq ft deal at Waterhouse Square in Holborn,
where it is due to open on 40,000 sq ft of space in July, with the rest in
phases over the next 12 months.
